Okay, I've posted in the past that a clean freak I'M NOT! (shut up anissa)
BUT--- I don't let my kids destroy things JUST because. I go to someones house a lot of times and things are just destroyed!! You know what I'm talking about. Cupboards are falling apart because they climb on them, walls are ruined with holes, or markers and such! Well, I think that's not okay. (I do have things that have got broken, but my kids don't a run a muck)
UNTIL NOW!
This is MY piano bench. And I noticed these white circles the other day. Kiersten proudly, but then apologetically said it was her! And I asked what happened?? She took the bottle of foam hand sanitizer and went to town! IT RUINED the bench. She did say she tried to wipe it off, so I tried to not be too mad.. but I'm still pissed and it's still ruined.
She's 4-- WHY would she do something like that?? Curiosity I suppose!!

You can always just sand and stain it again. You're lucky it's not so bad. I have black sharpie all over my front room couches and not enough money to buy new ones so any one that comes to my house sees it.
I just love it when my kids do something like this. I always ask them, "WHY did you do that???" Then they almost always look back with a blank face and say, "Uh...I don't know." And the thing is, I think they really don't! Hopefully someday this phase will pass....
I'm feeling your pain, thats all I'm gonna say. OH Ya and bring me a qt. Its your turn.
CRAP...its my turn isn't it
damn kids! :)
hand sanitizer? crazy!
actually, it seems to be a debate between me and my man...who destroys what, who lets the kids destroy what.
it seems like every time our car is wrecked- it's him! or a hole in the car's seat- it's him! pop stains on the car seats- it's him! i try to remember those times, so that when i get blamed for "letting" the kids destroy something i have some leverage! {wink, wink}
i guess you'll just have to make a padded seat to go on top- it would be super cute anyways!
Oh I have such a hard time with things that get ruined that can't be fixed or replaced. You have every right to be pissed...gosh I would be. That is kids...they all do it even if it drives us CrAzY! Sorry about your bench...jsut think that when she is grown up you will always remember the sanitizer stunt. LOL
