Here it goes- - - - -

  • Go with your gut feeling.
  • You really do GET what you pay for.
  • Go with your gut feeling.
  • Don't listen to your husband when he "says to pick the cheaper" route. BECAUSE....
  • You should GO WITH YOUR GUT FEELING!
*warning* this is a long post!
So I was finally ready to invest in getting my carpets cleaned. We own a bissel heat vac (or whatever it is) but it just requires SO much time. I finally convinced Kevin to pay people to come do it. I first called Stanley Steemer.. **we all know that name**.. well, of course without any specials going on, it was like $110 for like 3 rms & a hallway. Which I was okay with. But decided to surf the web some more & look for other prices. Came across a couple places, mostly ones that I recognized. And again, w/out any specials, it was hard to get a good deal on all the rooms or anything like that. Came across one, don't even remember the name, it was $75!! For all the house. (WHAT A STEAL) So I made the appointment, cz I really wanted it done. And as I was still looking around, I came across another company & I just really like everything about them. Their guarantees, "ethics", and kind of their commitment to make you happy. Had a good feeling I guess. Didn't know their name either, just had a more comfortable feeling about them. Well, I ended up calling these people, and she told me (probably her sales pitch) about their pricing, which was a little high, and she told me that---but also said that they won't come out & "sell" things to me. The price stays firm. None of this--- well, you'll need pre-treatment, or extra solution.... things like that. And she said, that if STAINS do come back, they will come back FOR FREE to clean it again. (and a whole plethora of things that she was selling me on!! ) I mean, I totally fell in love with this lady, and how they handle things. She specifically said to me, "People will come out & say well, you'll need a pre-treatment, so it's gonna add $40 dollars to what we already told you." WE DON'T DO THAT. . So of course, I wanted to switch to her company. But wouldn't you know, Kev said... NO way to $175, for half the rooms, when we can get all the rooms for HALF the price.
Well, the people I originally made the appt. with came & cleaned my carpets. And of course it looked tremendously better. I had juice, milk, food EVERYWHERE. And my hallway is always in use! So of course when he left, I was happy bcz it looked way better.
Here's the point of my story.. I know you've been waiting for it!! When he got here, he walked around the house and said "You'll need a pre-treatment! And that's $40 that we'll add." AND---he made me sign the paper of course, saying he was cleaning the carpets AND----that he's not responsible for ANY STAINS THAT MIGHT RE-APPEAR! I was so ticked. But what was I supposed to do? I'd already moved everything, and so excited to have it finally be cleaned. Everything that girl told me was true. I ended up calling her & telling her everything. It was weird cz I don't even know her, but here I am talking on the phone with her, telling her all the stuff "this GUY" did. I told her that in the future I will call HER to come do my carpets and tell anyone else that asks, to go there.
But I figured, hey, even though he DID do that, at least my carpets were clean, and not like he ripped me off hundreds of dollars. What do ya know!!! He said to let the carpet dry for 5-8 hours. NO big deal, we'll just hang out at my mom's, eat dinner there. Come home, still soaking wet. Turn fans on everywhere. Next morning, STILL VERY WET. Even the next day, my carpets were wet. I was so pissed!! And my hall way looks totally destroyed. Which I think is from it being wet & getting walked on. Just brought all the dirt up. I gave it 2 days to dry. HELLO!! And these pics are of my front room, right now. They didn't look like this before they were cleaned. Had more of all the small drips & spots & ordinary matting from dirt. Now I have huge, huge spots all over the front room & down the hallway. My point has been made. Sorry for the long post. But someone had to hear my story.. haha
